A CINEMATIC JOURNEY BEGINS
In 1983 I began my dream career in the Malayalam film industry as an associate director with the renowned directors Sri. Balachandra Menon and Sri. Kamal, after completing my graduation.
And later debuted as an independent director in 1988 with the movie DAVID DAVID MR DAVID and my bouquet has now more than 30 super hits and blockbusters!
My boundless passions made me a story writer as well as film producer too and I appear in cameo as well as character roles in own Malayalam films and Television series. I feel humbly proud that being that much appreciable, most of my films are re-made or dubbed to other languages!

TELEVISION CRAFTS & RECOGNITION
The first crime thriller television series 'Black and White' in Asianet, satirical comedy series 'Mahatma Gandhi Colony' the first of a kind in its genre, 'Sree Krishna Leela', 'Devi Mahatmyam' and 'Ayyappa Saranam' the mythological crafts, etc add to my treasure which I feel beautiful and perfect to my satisfaction.
Major Kerala State Television Awards for the tele cinema 'AMMA' of Amrita Channel, BEST DIRECTOR and BEST TELE-CINEMA awards for the year 2000 from Kerala State for 'ANNIE' of Kairaly Channel etc make me more responsible as a director.

HERITAGE
My father Sri. R. Raghavan Thampi belongs to the Royal family of Karthikappally Palace and mother Smt. Indira Thampi hail from Mankoikkal Kurup family from Attingal.
Late Adv. P. V. Neelakante Pillai, my maternal uncle was the President of 'Nair Service Society' for almost a decade.
FAMILY & LIFE
I am the Chief Executive Officer of BHARATHA KESARI TV for the time being, reside in Trivandrum, a part of Kerala in India with family, wife Priya Varma being the daughter of the lead Malayalam Film artist and retired Superintendent of Police Sri. K. N Jagannatha Varma and Smt. Santha Varma.
My kids are Mrs. Parvathy Thampi who is settled in UAE and Mr. Abhay Rishikesh Thampi who work as Regional Service Manager at Asian Paints LTD.
