HERITAGE & VISION

In 1983, Viji Thambi began his dream career in the Malayalam film industry as an associate director with the renowned directors Sri. Balachandra Menon and Sri. Kamal. Since his independent debut in 1988 with the movie DAVID DAVID MR DAVID, he has delivered more than 30 super hits and blockbusters.

His boundless passion made him a story writer and film producer, and he frequently appears in cameo and character roles in his own films and television series. Many of his films have been celebrated so widely that they were remade or dubbed into multiple languages, a testament to his universal storytelling appeal.

Viji Thambi also revolutionized the small screen, directing the first-ever crime thriller series 'Black and White' in Asianet, along with iconic mythological epics and satirical comedies. His excellence has been recognized with major Kerala State Television Awards, including Best Director.

Currently, he serves as the Chief Executive Officer of BHARATHA KESARI TV and remains a prominent leader in the film community, serving on the Central Board of Film Certification and leading various professional organizations like AMMA, FEFKA, and MACTA.
